Ward Clerk(s) part-time: Heartlands Hospital

We have an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic and organised individuals to join our ward clerk team at Heartlands Hospital.

We are currently recruiting for 4 positions:

Part-time:

Surgical Assessment Unit (SAU) -- Twilight shift (19:30-01:00) 2 posts -- 19.25 each (4 shifts on, 4 shifts off).

Surgical Assessment Unit (SAU) -- Sunday shift and alternate Friday/Saturday shift (07:30-20:00) -- 23 hours.

Paediatric Assessment Unit (PAU) -- Long day 11.5 hours (07:30-20:00) -- shift can be allocated to a different day each week.

As a Ward Clerk, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day administrative functions of a ward. You will act as the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff, helping to ensure the smooth running of the ward environment.

Main duties of the job

Greeting Patients, visitors and staff

Updating Oceano system with admissions/transfers/discharges

Booking appointments

Liaising with staff/relatives

Answering phones/buzzers

Lifting/carrying patient notes

Filing notes

Requesting/booking outpatient notes via Case note tracking

Scanning

What We're Looking For:

Excellent organisational and communication skills

Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment

A friendly and professional manner

Previous administrative or clerical experience (desirable, but not essential)
