Band 6/7 Stroke Speech and Language Therapist -- development opportunity Permanent post 37.5 hrs a week.

Are you an experienced Band 6 SLT looking to take that next step into a Band 7 post, looking for a new challenge whilst continuing to develop your clinical experience and leadership skills within stroke therapy?

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the development of a band 7 post for a SLT to join our large, friendly and innovative therapy team supporting the stroke services at Heartlands and Good Hope Hospital. This role provides an exciting opportunity to progress and expand your skills over a 6--12-month development programme.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate would be working closely with the existing therapy leads and therapists within stroke, leading the Speech and Language Therapy service at both Heartlands and Good Hope Hospital providing specialist clinical input within the field of communication and dysphagia. There is a robust MDT within the stroke services and strong links with the community Stroke ESD teams.

This is an ideal opportunity if you have a clinical interest in stroke alongside a strong motivation to develop skills and expertise and provided patient centred, evidence-based therapy within stroke services.

You will be welcomed into a large and supportive therapy team with excellent training and development opportunities as well as a robust supervision and appraisal system. You will have the opportunity to work alongside other highly specialist staff and have access to regular videofluoroscopy & FEES clinics with opportunities to further enhance and develop your existing specialist skills.

This post includes participation in the weekend service for inpatients across Heartlands and Good Hope Hospitals
