Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time (Monday to Friday) Admin-Coordinator for Respiratory medicine at Heartlands Hospital; the role will be covering our reception on our Respiratory Assessment & Discharge Area on Ward 24 and collating and inputting of information for the National Respiratory Audit Programme (NRAP). The information collected on this audit aims to enhance the quality of care for patients across the UK.
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and professional who is well organised and can exercise initiative to ensure that a seamless approach to patient care is delivered. The post holder will provide an empathic and sensitive point of contact for patients so must possess good communication skills. You will need to be proactive and be able to work independently and you must be a team player as you will be working in conjunction with colleagues, patients and the clinical teams
The ideal candidate will be educated to GCSE grade 4 or above in English; have evidence of excellent computer literacy & IT skills.
Main duties of the job
Meet and greet patients and processing their attendance at appointments
Notify patients of any changes to appointments
Deal with queries and complaints
Scheduling patients into clinics
Use Trust systems to collate and input data on to the national database NRAP
Analyse and extract complex data sets from a number of different sources
Create documents and spreadsheets
Arrange porters/patient transport, sample collection/delivery as requested
Organise interpreters where required
To type letters and reports
Arrange meetings
photocopying, scanning of any documentation
Book and monitor room bookings
identify any long waiting list patients and any breaches
Organise own day to day work tasks, prioritising in order to achieve set timescales
To assist colleagues as directed by the supervisor/manager in times of pressure of work
Any other admin tasks that are covered in the JD
