Exciting opportunities have arisen at Good Hope Hospital to recruit Health Care Assistants to join the Emergency Department (ED) and the Acute Medical Team (AMU) at Good Hope Hospital.

This role is a Band 2 development role, and once all relevant competencies are achieved the post holder will be uplifted to Band 3.

Candidates will be required to provide evidence by way of certificate of Maths and English GCSE at grade C or above, or equivalent. For any overseas qualifications you will be required to have the UK-ENIC valid certificate.

Main duties of the job

As a HCA, your workload will be varied and at times challenging - however, being able to multi-task in an efficient manner whilst maintaining a caring and helpful attitude, will support everything you do - to make a difference to your team and the patients and relatives that rely on us to care for them. You will need to have excellent communication and organisational skills.

Within your role you will be asked to:

*Work as part of the ward/ department team under the supervision of registered nurses and:

*Participate in the delivery of patient centred care, maintaining a compassionate and professional attitude at all times.

*Contribute to the ward/department organisation.

*Support registered nurses in the provision of caring and safe environment.

The post holder will demonstrate a level of skill and understanding which enables them to undertake specific tasks delegated by the nurse in charge and in accordance with relevant procedures, guidelines and policies. They will undertake both routine and specially identified tasks for which they have been trained and assessed as competent.
