The University Hospital Trust is part of one of the largest NHS Hospital Trusts in the UK and has an excellent reputation for the care that we provide. We value the contribution that all our staff make to a positive patient experience and are delighted to be able to offer a full-time opportunity within our Central Endoscopy Decontamination unit (CEDU).

We will provide a competitive salary, uniform, generous terms and conditions including a minimum of 25 days annual leave (based on full time hours), the opportunity to join a pension scheme, training and career progression and a positive working environment.

Main duties of the job

In return you will be expected to provide an excellent service of decontaminated Flexible scopes for clinics. The role requires Manual processing of Flexible's scopes, operating endoscopy washer machines and using a software tracking system.

You will be reliable, enthusiastic and self-motivated. You will understand the importance of excellent customer service and team working. The training you receive will be specific to the role and includes awareness of infection control and how flexible scopes/medical devices are designed and used. You will come into regular contact with our clinical colleagues and therefore you will be a good ambassador by demonstrating Trust values at all times, showing empathy and respecting confidentiality.

The Decontamination Team Lead post is 37.5 hours on a shift rota pattern, and all Technicians are rostered to work Saturday and Sundays. The unit is open from 7.30am until 8pm. You will be required to carry out full duties in CEDU which is monitored by our Quality Standard, and you may be required to work across sites. This is an exciting opportunity to develop new skills and to offer a vital service to all clinical areas.

If you have endoscopy decontamination experience or experience working in a clean room environment, then this would be an advantage. If no previous skills and you wish to join a dynamic team, then full training will be delivered.
