Job summary
Solihull Special Care Dental Service provides Special Care Dentistry and Paediatric Dentistry with University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, across the borough of Solihull.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Dental Practitioner to join our team to provide advanced Special Care Dental treatment to our patients.
You will be currently working in a Senior Dental Practitioner role within Special Care Dentistry, providing high quality advanced treatments and care to patients including Intravenous and inhalation sedation.
Based in the community, covering the borough of Solihull, we would be looking for someone to support our service for 1 day a week (7.5 hours) on a 12-month fixed term contract.
We would ask that you are fully registered with the GDC and have experience of working in a Senior Dental Practitioner role and providing Intra venous sedation. You must also be currently listed on the NHS Dental Performers List, England.
As a senior colleague you will be working closely with the clinical teams, offering guidance, advice and support for local colleagues and for the wider service. Collaborating with our Medical Director, Clinical Service Lead, Specialists, senior dentists and service/operational management, you will help shape the future of our dental service.
Main duties of the job
The Special Care Dental Service provides Special Care Dentistry and Paediatric Dentistry with University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, across the borough of Solihull.
*Provision of advanced care to patients with additional needs within a clinic or domiciliary
environment
*To provide high quality advanced treatments and care to patients referred from: General Dental Practitioners, General Medical Practitioners and other healthcare Professionals
*provide leadership for dental colleagues
*Provision of intravenous sedation
*Provision of inhalation sedation
