Business Administration Apprentice - Clinical Photography

Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join a busy and dynamic clinical photography team to support with administrative process and patient care, whilst professionally developing through an apprenticeship programme.

You will be working in a busy reception, working in a team alongside other administrators and qualified clinical photographers. You will facilitate excellent patient care and high-quality patient photography by being accurate, using initiative and working in line with our Trust values to complete all tasks.

Your days will be varied and will include liaising with other members of our department, coordinating requests with ward staff, taking phone calls, greeting patients and using a variety of systems to record appointments. You'll need good IT skills, as well as having an excellent customer service manner to ensure patients are treated with kindness and respect. You'll complete general administrative tasks, such as ensuring that stock is managed effectively and ordered when required as well as sending and receiving deliveries and ensuring any incoming items are properly recorded.

In the role, you'll work in line with GDPR and confidentiality principles and apply this to clinical photography and patient consent. You'll deal with lots of data and information and make sure that this is accurately input into hospital systems to facilitate efficient patient photography.

Main duties of the job

You will be providing support to the Clinical Photography department from the reception, answering phone calls and taking requests for photography from ward staff. You will book in jobs on our job management system, complete accurate data entry and deal with patient info and book out jobs on the same system. You will be communicating information to staff working on all UHB sites.

You will provide administrative support to the team, ensuring smooth running of the photography department and excellent service for our patients. You will be working as part of a team and independently to complete tasks and acting in line with our Trust values by being kind, connected and bold. You will understand GDPR and patient confidentiality regulations in relation to clinical photography and consent.

You'll use your initiative to complete tasks when they need doing and suggest improvements to processes where appropriate. You'll contribute to the effective and efficient running of the service and ensure that patients, staff and relatives are left with a positive impression of their clinical photography experience.

All relevant training will be provided on systems and processes. This full-time role is based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital but work on other sites may be required based on service needs.
