Job summary
Solihull Community Podiatry is seeking an Advanced Podiatrist (Locality Lead) to join our innovative service at 0.9WTE. The post holder will lead, develop, and deliver high-quality specialist podiatry care in line with the NHS Long Term Plan, focusing on prevention, early intervention, reducing health inequalities, and integrating digital health solutions.
You will provide advanced clinical expertise in managing complex and high-risk foot conditions, including diabetes, vascular disease, wound care, and MSK pathologies, leading on limb salvage and wound management pathways in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. The role includes driving service development, quality improvement, and supporting workforce growth through supervision, mentoring, and training of junior staff, students, and apprentices.
Working autonomously as a source of expert advice across the system, you will also contribute to audits, service evaluations, and research to embed evidence-based practice. This senior role requires excellent communication, clinical reasoning, and organisational skills, alongside a strong commitment to patient-centred care and continuous service improvement.

Main duties of the job
As Locality Lead within Solihull Community Podiatry (0.9WTE), you will provide advanced clinical care to patients with complex and high-risk foot conditions, including diabetes, vascular disease, wound care, and MSK pathologies. Using your degree in podiatry, HCPC registration, and postgraduate or Level 7 specialist training, you will apply advanced podiatric knowledge, clinical reasoning, and diagnostic skills to manage complex caseloads and lead on wound management and limb salvage pathways.
You will use your significant post-registration experience to drive service development, audit, and quality improvement projects, embedding evidence-based care and aligning with NHS Long Term Plan priorities. You will contribute to digital health innovation, virtual care models, and sustainability initiatives to improve access and outcomes.
As a senior clinician, you will supervise and mentor staff, students, and apprentices, providing education, training, and leadership to develop the workforce. You will act as a system-wide expert, work collaboratively across MDT and ICS networks, and maintain accurate clinical records, ensuring safe, patient-centred, and equitable care.
