We are recruiting Band 2/3 Healthcare Assistants within Heartlands Hospital across multiple specialities including Acute Medicine, Surgery, Elderly Care, Emergency Department, Cardiology, Respiratory, Renal, Infectious Diseases and other specialist medical and surgical Departments. *NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)

Main duties of the job
Band 2/ 3 Healthcare Support Workers provide essential care and support to patients under the supervision of registered nurses and other healthcare professionals. Duties include:
Assisting patients with personal care, hygiene, and mobility needs
Monitoring and recording vital signs and clinical observations
Supporting patients with nutrition, hydration, and comfort
Assisting in clinical procedures and rehabilitation activities
Maintaining accurate and timely documentation
Promoting patient dignity, independence, and wellbeing
Supporting infection prevention and control measures
Communicating effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team
Contributing to care planning and patient assessments
Escalating concerns appropriately to senior staff
Band 3 roles may involve additional responsibilities such as mentoring junior staff, supporting discharge planning, and undertaking extended skills (e.g., venepuncture, ECGs) depending on training and service needs.
