Band 2 Critical Care Clinical Support Worker

Job summary

We are looking for compassionate, motivated, and dedicated individuals to join our Critical Care team as Clinical Support Workers at Heartlands Hospital and Good Hope Hospital. You will play a vital role in supporting nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, high-quality care to critically ill patients and their families. You will need to be able to work our normal shift patterns, starting at 0730hrs or 1930hrs which will include weekends and some public holidays. The minimal working hours per week will be 23hrs. Previous experience in a healthcare role is essential for this position. Testing for Math and English if required will be arranged prior to interview.

Main duties of the job

*Participate in the delivery of personal patient centred care, always maintaining a compassionate and professional attitude with patients, their families and carers

*Support the clinical team in preparing and maintaining equipment in line with infection prevention and control standards.

*Offer reassurance and emotional support to patients and their families during what can often be a difficult time.

*communicates with people, their families and carers, colleagues and other staff using effective and non-discriminatory communication taking account of differences, capability and needs of individuals

  • *Successful completion of Trust based numeracy & literacy test or provide evidence to confirm achievement of Maths / English qualifications at Level 2 or above
  • *Vocational qualification at level 2 or equivalent relevant experience.

  • *Internationally educated applicants will have to evidence UK ENIC (the UK National Information Centre) Statements of compatibility
