Band 4 Motor Neurone Disease Administrator

Job summary

This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join a small specialist team, dedicated to supporting individuals diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), across the West Midlands. Due to the nature of the rapidly progressing condition, the post holder will need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, kindness and empathy when interacting via email and telephone, with service users, their families and other healthcare professionals. It is essential that the post holder exercises initiative and judgement using acquired skills and knowledge and maintains confidentiality at all times.

The post holder will provide an empathic and sensitive point of contact for service users. The post holder will support coordination and organisation of Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings, including the preparation of accurate minutes and timely dissemination of information to all core MDT members. They will also assist in the planning of the Midlands wide Annual MND Conference which brings together healthcare professionals from across the North and West Midlands. This is a dynamic and rewarding role, ideal for someone seeking to develop their skills in healthcare administration and coordination while making a meaningful contribution to the care of individuals with Motor Neurone Disease.

Main duties of the job

To Support the organisation of Multidisciplinary Team meeting, scribing during the meetings and dissemination information to key members of the MDT following meetings. To provide a comprehensive and full ranging administration/Co-ordination service. Working in conjunction with colleagues, service users and stakeholders to provide an efficient service. It is essential that the post holder exercises initiative and judgement using acquired skills and knowledge, always maintaining confidentiality.

To provide a comprehensive and full ranging administration/co-ordination service, working in conjunction with colleagues, service users and stakeholders to provide an efficient service. It is essential that the post holder exercises initiative and judgement using acquired skills and knowledge, maintaining confidentiality at all times. The post holder will provide an empathic and sensitive point of contact for service users. Knowledge and use of various Microsoft Office Software programmes including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access (database) to produce letters, presentations, reports and other relevant correspondence.
