Job summary
The purpose of this post is to actively coordinate the administrative processes of chemotherapy and patient pathways in the Haematology and Oncology Day Unit (DU), ensuring a smooth and efficient service for patients throughout their treatment at Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull hospitals.
The role will mainly focus on coordination of patient treatments within the DU and ensuring that all the relevant documentation and appointments are coordinated and completed prior to the arrival of patient into the DU.
The role will require highlighting any potential delays in the pathway and working to mitigate the impact of these problems to the patients. The post holder will be required to work with the senior DU staff to develop patient pathways and ensure that the patient and carer experience is central to every stage of their journey.
The role also involves general administration within the department including filing and scanning.
outpatient clinics also run alongside the day unit, the role involves booking patients in and out of clinic and coordinating patients' appointments with their treatments across all sites.
Main duties of the job
Booking patients into clinic and day unit, filing, scanning, preparing blood forms, general administration duties, liaising with the MDT team and senior doctors.
Working as part of a very busy administration team and across sites at Good Hope, Heartlands and Solihull Hospitals when needed.
