B7 Snr Occupational Therapist (TL) Specialist Rehabilitation Service

Job summary

We provide a multi-disciplinary specialist rehabilitation service to patients that require enhanced and advanced care and treatment skills. You will be working alongside the Specialist Rehabilitation Service to deliver bespoke, patient centred treatment plans to support the recovery and quality of life in people with life changing conditions. You will deliver excellent patient care through function and participation, using your knowledge and skills to enable patients to access and engage within the environment around them. This will include specialist seating assessments, cognitive assessments and splinting/casting, utilising equipment and aids to optimise function. There will be additional training and education available to support the delivery of this if required.

Main duties of the job

You will manage a complex caseload of varying conditions, including neurological and poly-traumatic injuries, as well as other conditions, requiring a multi skilled approach to supporting their complex rehabilitation needs. You will demonstrate specialist knowledge and skill in treating patient's requiring a specialist rehabilitative approach.

You will work collaboratively with the Specialist Rehab Service and ward MDT to deliver a patient focussed, functional approach, understanding the individual patients' need, providing family and carer education and support. You will advocate for your patients' needs and collaborate with the MDT to deliver excellent care and acute rehabilitation. Underpinning this, you will have a good understanding of national and regional specialist rehabilitation pathways.

You will support in the ongoing education and development of the Occupational Therapy clinical service for the Specialist Rehabilitation Service across the QEHB site. This will include sharing your knowledge and specialist skills to provide teaching and education to others.

  • *BSc in OT/ Dip COT
  • *HCPC registration
  • Evidence of CPD including recent post graduate training

Desirable

Experience

  • *Demonstrate comprehensive clinical experience including managing a caseload of patients with complex rehabilitation needs
