Job summary

Phlebotomist Band 2, 36 hours per week -Solihull Hospital

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and committed individual to join our friendly and dynamic team at Solihull Hospital to cover the OPD clinic, antenatal and support the wards.

This is a highly rewarding position that plays a vital role in supporting patient care across both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Team Environment - You will work alongside experienced professionals in a supportive, inclusive, and patient-centred environment under the leadership of Matron Gemma Chinn.

Main duties of the job

As a Phlebotomist at Solihull Hospital, you will play a key role in supporting patient care by ensuring the accurate and timely collection, and identification of blood samples.

You will follow strict protocols for patient identification and sample labelling, maintain high standards of quality and safety, and contribute to efficient stock management. The role requires attention to detail, good communication, and adherence to Trust policies and procedures to ensure a reliable and patient-centred phlebotomy service.

This role requires flexibility and the ability to remain calm in a busy environment. Responsibilities include:

*Obtaining blood samples from inpatients, outpatients, and various clinics.

Applicants must be able to work independently without direct supervision, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism while interacting with patients in a sensitive manner. A strong team ethos, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to contributing to patient care are essential.
