Job summary
The Birmingham Regional Severe Asthma Service (BRSAS) is a nationally commissioned service providing a highly specialist care delivery to patients across the country. We are one of the largest specialist severe asthma services in the UK.
BRSAS situated at Heartlands Hospital is seeking a band 6 nurse to join our enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a band 6 nurse who is looking for a new challenge. Main duties of the job
You will be a committed team player, but with the ability to work independently. Excellent communication skills are required. You will be required to review in patients providing specialist advice, education, inhaler techniques and assess adherence to medications and complete the asthma bundle. You will be required to collect data and submit this onto the National Asthma Audit Programme. You will be required to undertake biological clinics administering injections and undertaking assessments requring detailed knowledge of the patient response to treatment. You will be required to educate patients and carers to enable homecare delivery of biologic therapy. You will be required to undertake nurse led clinics, reviewing patient's progress, making appropriate amendments to care or treatment. You will be responsible in undertaking and interpreting diagnostic tests. You will be expected to participate in research and audit, publication and attending meetings and presenting.
