Band 4 Colorectal Cancer Support Worker

Job summary

An exciting opportunity for a Band 4 Cancer Support Worker has become available within the Colorectal CNS team, based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The successful candidate will work as part of the CNS team and Personalised Care Team to help to deliver excellent individualised care to our patients with a colorectal cancer diagnosis.

Main duties of the job

The Colorectal CNS team provides advice and support for patients with colorectal cancer from the point of diagnosis to discharge from post treatment surveillance. As part of our multidisciplinary team, your role would involve having holistic conversations with patients and their families and completing assessments to ensure that they have access to the correct support to meet their individual needs. Excellent communication skills and are therefore essential. Another aspect of the role involves tracking patients on the colorectal surveillance pathway to ensure that they receive investigations at the correct time. Full training will be given on Trust IT systems, and navigating the patient pathway, however organisational and time management skills will also be required. You will need to be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
