Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced pharmacy assistant with a flexible working approach to deliver a high-quality patient-focused pharmacy service. You must be able to demonstrate good communication and organisational skills, working independently and as part of a team. You will be involved in maintaining the Pharmacy Service to wards and departments on a rotational bass.
It is expected that the successful candidates will undertake in depth level 2 training in Pharmacy services unless they already hold a relevant qualification.
Applicants should also have a minimum of 2 GCSE's grade C or above (or equivalent), to include Maths and English Language. Functional skills level 2 in Maths and English are also accepted.
Certificates will be requested at interview.

Main duties of the job
*Working on reception, taking in prescriptions and booking them onto our pharmacy tracking system
*Always maintain good customer service skills
*Answer the telephone and refer clinical queries to the appropriate trained staff member
*To interpret and accurately dispense prescriptions and requests for medication
*To participate in stock supply to wards and departments and reorder as necessary
*To receive goods into the department, unpack, check and put away deliveries against relevant paperwork
*Working as part of a team
*Assist in the delivery of dispensed items to the wards and departments.

- *Holds or is willing to work towards an NVQ level 2 Certificate in Pharmacy Service Skills (QCF) and BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Pharmaceutical Science
Desirable
- *Accredited Dispensing Assistants course
