Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, organised and well motivate individual to work with the liver Neuroendocrine team at the UHB to care for patients who are treated for this condition . The postholder will oversee the clinic co-ordination of all the Neuroendocrine patients and work closely with both Clinical Nurse Specialists and Consultants to achieve delivery of appointments and patients pathways. Training and ongoing support will be provided for this exciting role and there are further opportunities for development. Candidates will need to be assertive, confident, flexible and able to work under pressure, to accurately record and monitor the progress of patient. Attention to detail is essential for this role.
Main duties of the job
Collaboratively working with clinical teams both within and outside of the trust to ensure appropriate management of patient information and co-ordination of patient pathways for Neuroendocrine tumour patients. Work with trust staff to ensure all cancer patients have a booked 1st appointment, investigation and procedure and record details of patients coming via all referral routes. Establish robust processes with all involved in patient pathways to negotiate and improve the co-ordination of the patient journey e.g. X-ray department. The post-holder will be responsible for maintaining and streamlining the clinic co-ordination of the neuroendocrine tumour service. The post- holder will be expected to link in with service providers, to ensure patients health journeys are robust and tracked appropriately and in a timely manner, conversant to the NET service methodology. The postholder will be under the supervision of a Medical Secretary whom they will work alongside and support.
