Job summary
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly and supportive service. We are a very busy team and as an Administrator you will have multiple responsibilities within our integrated Community Hub based at Solihull Hospital. You should have excellent inter-personal skills, good customer service experience and enjoy dealing with the public on the phone. The post is fixed term for 12 months to cover maternity leave and is part time, 28.5 hours which can be flexible within our shift times.
The Solihull Urgent Community Response and Virtual Ward Team work as part of the Division to deliver Urgent Community Response, supporting patients within their own homes who are at risk of hospital admission to facilitate them being seen assessed and treated at home. Virtual Wards aim to deliver intervention within the patient's usual place of residence to provide rehabilitation at home, supporting hospital avoidance and early supported discharge. The team work collaboratively with GPs, OPAL plus, West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS), Solihull Community Nursing, Solihull Community therapy etc, with the aim to work as a multidisciplinary team to facilitate care delivered within the community.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a comprehensive and full ranging administration/co-ordination service, liaising with both internal and external agencies and will need excellent communication, time management, administrative and Microsoft office / Teams skills.
You should provide excellent telephone skills accurately, recording telephone messages and other enquiries and refer as appropriate. Recording data for referrals received should be taken accurately and responsibly as this is used to establish capacity and demand.
It is essential that you exercise initiative and judgement, using acquired skills and knowledge, maintaining confidentiality at all times. You will provide secretarial / clerical support to Solihull Community Services. You should be organised, proactive and flexible and previous experience and IT skills are essential. Training will be given on a variety of Trust IT systems. The Admin Team are a friendly and work around each other to cover the needs of the service. We work flexibly together to work a mixture of shifts covering 7 day service, 365 days;
