Job summary
To provide a robust and structured booking service to the Imaging Department within the Good Hope Hospital Site, supporting all imaging modalities. To ensure that lists are filled to capacity and fully utilised to aid with meeting trust targets and KPI's. To provide a telephone service for patients managing appointments, recording and updating of information, management or incoming referrals and requests, manage patient admissions and provide all support for smooth patient admissions and discharges.
The post holder will be required to work by the trust values and have empathy and a sympathetic approach to patients, family and their carers, whilst managing complex and confidential information.
This is a full time vacancy 37.5hrs p/w.
(Flexible working is required covering a 7 day service).
Main duties of the job
*Processing patient appointment attendance using a variety of hospital information systems
*To undertake where required typing which may include touch type from audio and/or copy type from written documentation which may include letters, emails, reports and any other correspondence as required
*To assist colleagues as directed by the Supervisor/Line Manager in times of pressure of work
*Co-operate in the introduction of new technology and new working practices to ensure the smooth running of the department
*Photocopying, Scanning, and filing letters and documents as required
*Receive and open incoming post and act as required
*Review and action electronic correspondence and disseminate appropriately
*Maintain confidentiality at all times in accordance with Caldicott Guidelines and Data Protection Act
*Accurately record telephone messages and other enquiries and refer as appropriate
*Attend admin team / departmental meetings on a regular basis. Contribute to building effective teamwork in exchanging views, ideas and communicating effectively
*Always maintain Confidentiality
*Work collaboratively as part of an integrated team
*Work within and keep up to date with National and Trust legislation, guidelines, policies, procedures, protocols, and code of conduct relating to own role
*Participate in and contribute to the effective introduction of new systems and initiatives leading to the improvement and development of patient services
