Job summary

Be competent to work independently with a high level of skill and autonomy at Advance Specialist level in Cardiac Imaging. Have the skills to undertake a range of unsupervised echocardiography as an independent practitioner as per demands of the service. You will be expected to have personal responsibilities to support the service. You are expected to have a highly specialist knowledge to independently formulate clinical decisions to ensure appropriate evaluation of patients.

Collect and collate complex clinical information from multiple sources to determine optimal procedure methodology. Can set up and operates all medical equipment required to perform your procedures.

Main duties of the job

The post holder in conjunction with the service leads and the operational manager for Cardiology will have responsibility for the smooth running of the Cardiology diagnostic service and support the service with training and competencies through all departments.

Under the direction of the Lead consultant in imaging the post holder will participate in all aspects of Cardiology to provide a seamless high-quality service to all patients within the Trust. This will include developing the roles of the entire echocardiography team to strive towards full independent practitioner status and eventually towards consultant practitioner status. This role is based within the Echo department and is a full-time echo role.

Independently practises with a high level of skill and autonomy at Advance Specialist level in Echocardiography.

Provides effective day-to-day leadership of the cardiac physiology team within the advanced specialist field and other areas when required.

To undertake any other duties which is deemed appropriate to the band when requested by Principal Cardiac physiologist.
