Job summary

We are currently hiring across the critical care units at Heartlands Hospital and Good Hope Hospital. Within these sites are regional specialities such as vascular, cytoreductive surgery, nephrology and infectious diseases, along with general surgery and emergency medicine. This provides a diverse range of critically ill patients and opportunities to develop your medical and surgical nursing skills.

We have full and part time time positions available for qualified Band 5 Registered Nurses in possession of their NMC registration PIN, with a minimum of 3 months post registration experience. We can offer a supportive, engaging and positive working environment with comprehensive training for those new to critical care.

With any role within UHB, each post comes with the support of our team and managers. This is extended by support from our School of Nursing and AHPs. Main duties of the job

After an individualised supportive plan based on your level of experience you will nurse patients who are critically ill or recovering from their critical illness.

You will utilise a wide variety of skills and knowledge to care for your patient in a forward thinking innovative unit, applying excellent communication skills to offer support to patients and their families.

Staff rotate between Heartlands and Good Hope Hospital (a base unit can be chosen) which provides excellent opportunities to develop skills bespoke to each unit.

Critical Care offers opportunities to develop through nationally recognised competencies and beyond. The support of your development will be enhanced by our Critical Care and Trust Clinical Education Teams.
