Clinical and Research Fellow in Respiratory Medicine

Job summary

This fixed term post will be primarily based in respiratory research and offers opportunity to enhance research training as well as clinical skills in respiratory medicine, with sub-specialty focus on interstitial and occupational lung diseases. The post is funded for 2 years, though applicants may wish to discuss a shorter fixed period and experience (ie. 1 year). Several similar posts at registrar level also exist in the Trust in other respiratory sub-specialties. It will suit a trainee wishing to develop subspecialty skills in respiratory medicine, ILD and occupational lung diseases at a number of career points post-foundation training. The level of content of the job will be tailored to the experience of the successful applicant. Applicants may also wish to discuss the feasibility of carrying out a higher degree through University of Birmingham, supervised by the team. We are happy to accommodate flexible and less than full-time working patterns.

Main duties of the job

Patient/ Client Care (if applicable)

*ILD and occupational lung disease clinic and post-clinic MDT with supervisors

*Attendance at ILD MDT meetings

Policy and Service Development

*Contribution to existing clinical trials rotas for oversight and on site 1st line study management

*Set up and run an academic project in occupational lung and/or ILD to complete during the fixed term
