Job summary
University Hospitals of Birmingham is one of the largest acute hospital Trusts in the country, serving a diverse population across Birmingham, East and North, Solihull, Sutton Coldfield and South Staffordshire. Comprising 4 acute hospital sites (Queen Elizabeth, Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull), a range of community services and Birmingham Chest Clinic; the Trust also runs several smaller 'satellite' units ensuring patients can be treated closer to home.
We are currently seeking to employ a Material Movement Operative on a 12 month secondment to join a well-established team based at Meteor Park in Aston. The post holder will undertake all operational duties associated with a busy RDP warehouse. Please refer to the job description for more details
Main duties of the job
To accurately pick goods from shelves/racking at the RDP
To receive, inspect and check all goods delivered to the RDP
To operate mechanical aids in a responsible manner
To carry out clerical work and computer entry associated with each receipt
To carry out stock-taking duties, as required
To undertake all duties to the required standards of cleanliness and security
To oversee or assist in the unloading and loading of vehicles
To deliver goods in an efficient, safe and secure manner to the correct end users
To collect roll cages from UHB
To monitor, according to schedule, ward stock top-up levels
To check and put away received goods into correct stock locations in the ward
