Ward Catering Operative
Are you reliable and looking for part time hours working in a small and friendly team? The Catering department at University Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham are recruiting for Catering Operatives to join the production unit team.
These essential roles are vital in supporting the delivery of patient meal at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital site with the following hours available:
Flexible working Bank Posts with available via UHB+ within wards and retail settings.
Catering is at the heart of the organisation - cooking, creating and preparing, hot and cold food served to patients, staff and visitors both on wards and in our retail outlets.
As one of the successful candidates, you will be charged with maintaining good food hygiene and cleaning standards to a professional level while promoting a professional image to patients and visitors.
No experience is required as full training is provided, so if you're friendly with a 'can-do' attitude, then we want to hear from you.
Criteria
*Good Basic Education
*Team worker
*Good communication in English, both written and oral.
*Ability to work on own initiative
*Previous Catering experience -- Desirable
*C.I.E.H Food Hygiene Level 2 -- Desirable
*Full Driving Licence -- Desirable
Main duties of the job
Patient Catering (Substantive or UHB+)
Temperatures of regenerated foods are recorded, along with chilled and frozen storage using the designated HACCP sheets
To ensure codes of practice for HACCP and food safety are followed as per site training
Check dates and rotation of food accordingly within working area
Handling cleaning chemicals in accordance with COSHH and training provided
Appropriate removal of food waste (as per site process) using designated waste and recycling streams
Record appropriate food waste and report high levels of waste to supervisors
Report abuse of service to Supervisors or line managers
