Job summary
We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and innovative Band 4 therapy assistant to work with the Homeward Centre team. This is a permanent full-time post based at Good Hope Hospital.
Applicants should have an interest in rehabilitation and have experience in the following specialties: Healthcare of older persons and Trauma & orthopaedics. The post holder must have good clinical skills, interpersonal skills and be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
You will join our large proactive team of therapists who provide a therapy service within this teaching trust. We are committed to continued professional and career development of all staff.
Preferably applicants should have a valid driver's license and must be prepared to participate in our 7-day working service. Please note this is a full-time post (37.5 hours) vacancy.
Main duties of the job
Main duties
The post holder must have competence working in occupational therapy and physiotherapy. They will be required to manage a clinical caseload autonomously but should know when to report back to the qualified therapists. Skills in discharge planning and inpatient rehabilitation are essential for this role. The post holder must have excellent communication skills and have confidence to communicate with multidisciplinary team members, external agencies and patient representatives. In addition, excellent IT skills are required for patient documentation, onward referrals, audits and data collection.

- *Education to GCSE level or equivalent including English and maths at grade C or above.
- *Able to demonstrate competence in maths and written and spoken English.
- *Educated to A Level / NVQ 3/ BTEC or equivalent (e.g. NVQ 2 or similar vocational qualification PLUS experience working in a care setting)
- *Care certificate or be willing to work towards this.
Desirable
- *Evidence of recent education / personal development related to healthcare.
- *Demonstrated has been proactive with continuing professional development

- *Comprehensive experience supporting therapists in a relevant clinical setting.

- *Can demonstrate an in depth understanding of relevant areas of therapy, the effect of illness/clinical conditions / disability on function and health and basic aims of rehabilitation
