You will work alongside experienced sonographers across a range of ultrasound specialties depending on site base. With access to state-of-the-art equipment, you'll be supported by a friendly, knowledgeable team dedicated to mentoring and helping you succeed.

We are seeking highly motivated individuals with a relevant healthcare background and professional registration such as HCPC, NMC etc, who demonstrate a strong interest in ultrasound and a commitment to delivering excellent patient care.

Main duties of the job

Your daily duties will include observing, assisting, and eventually performing a range of ultrasound examinations under supervision. You will learn to produce high-quality images, make accurate observations, and communicate findings effectively to clinical colleagues.

o To undertake prolonged periods of intense concentration to obtain and interpret images in a dynamic environment

o To communicate effectively with all patients and visitors in a sensitive and empathetic manner. To give clear explanations to patients regarding ultrasound examinations including risks, accuracy, consent and limitations as appropriate

o To maintain patients' dignity and confidentiality whilst frequently undertaking examinations of an intimate nature

o To have good hand/eye co-ordination combined with spatial awareness which enables precise acquisition of diagnostic images

o You will be expected to manage your clinical placement time effectively, develop technical scanning skills, and apply theoretical knowledge in a practical setting.

o To understand ergonomic principles to minimise the risk of RSI, ill health in yourself and others.

o To competently use a wide range of high specification ultrasound machines to enhance diagnostic accuracy from images and gain maximum clinical information

o To ensure safe working environment for all, reporting and reducing any risks found.
