We are currently recruiting for a Band 5 RN to work on our liver ward. The ward cares for a wide variety of patients with complex medical and surgical liver conditions, including those undergoing assessment for, and then undergoing, transplantation. The ward also cares for patients undergoing treatments for HCC, neuro endocrine tumours, autoimmune diseases etc. The ward cares for pre- and post-operative patients as well as general surgical patients. The patients are at the heart of all we do on the ward, and we are eager to employ a nurse with the same enthusiasm and care as us.
We are looking for a self-motivated nurse to join our fantastic and experienced team. Fundamental care is essential to our patients, and we take great pride in being able to look after these complex, yet extremely interesting, patients to a high standard.
We receive support from a number of specialist nurses who assist with the care of these patients. UHB is a fast-growing Trust which values the education and professional development of its staff; the ward is educationally supported by a clinical educator that assists to ensure all staff are trained in an appropriate and timely manner to suit their individual requirements.
Main duties of the job
The post holder must
Use up to date knowledge and evidence to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate care, communicate findings, influence changes and promote health and best practice.
Competent in managing the care of a group pf patients- admit and discharge patients, drug administration, wound and drain care, perform vital signs, care of post operative patients and looking after acutely ill patients transferred from ITU/EPOC.
Needs a positive and enthusiastic attitude, reliable, flexible, caring and compassionate, approachable and good communication skills - written and verbal.
