An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Community Therapy Team, and the Specialist Falls Service at Solihull.
We have a vacancy for a full-time fixed term, 12-month contract Band 3 Therapy support worker.
The post holder will be competent to work with the Specialist Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Pharmacists and Physiotherapists, supporting qualified staff to undertake various rehabilitation programmes and administration duties.
Main duties of the job
The role of the Therapy Support worker is to support the Solihull Community Therapy Team in the provision of treatment and rehabilitation to Solihull patients who require therapeutic intervention.
This role involves working within a multi-disciplinary team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and other Therapy support workers.
The Therapy Support worker will work autonomously, carrying out domiciliary visits to patients across Solihull Community, whilst under the supervision of the qualified Occupational and Physiotherapists and the Band 4 Therapy Support Workers in the team. The domiciliary visits will focus on the delivery of prescribed exercise plans support, equipment checking and outcome measure collection, delivering safe, effective and timely care within the patient's own home.
The post holder will be involved with administrative duties to support the Community Therapy service through onward signposting tasks and general administrative duties including booking in appointments.
The trust is committed to providing a 7-day service. The role therefore includes participation in a weekend cover rota. The role requires a car driver with a full license (with business car insurance) to enable them to be able to drive independently to their daily visits.
This is a full time (37.5 hours per week) fixed term post for 12 months.

Essential
- *Sound basic education to GCSE or equivalent including English at grade C or above
- *Able to demonstrate competence in maths and written and spoken English
- *Educated to A level/NVQ 3 or equivalent (eg NVQ 2 or similar vocational qualification) plus minimum of 2 years' experience

- *Evidence of recent education/personal development
- *Care certificate or be willing to work towards

- *Relevant therapy / health / social care experience
- *Experience of working with people and with a team
- *Experience supporting therapists in a relevant clinical setting
- *Previous administrative experience within health care setting

- *Thorough understanding of the role of a Therapy support worker
