The End of Life & Bereavement Care Team are looking for a band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the team based at the QE and working across site. The End of Life and Bereavement Care Team's focus is to improve the patient and their loved ones experience by delivering training and education, role modeling and service development to all staff in UHB who influence any aspect of the patient and/or their relatives journey during this emotive time.The applicant must be able to demonstrate they have a passion for caring for these patients, be dynamic and have a keen interest in improving care, quality and overall end of life and bereavement experiences within UHB.

Main duties of the job

Main Duties & Tasks

Reporting to the Lead Nurse for End of Life and Bereavement the post holder will support the Trust for End of Life and Bereavement care. They will support quality improvement working collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders. Alongside nursing and midwifery leaders within the Trust the post holder will take day to day responsibility for key services, work streams and programmes of work, fostering and developing strong collaborative working relations internally and externally. The post holder will represent the Trust and deputise for the Lead Nurse for End of Life and Bereavement. Management and oversight for the day-to-day operational management of the End of Life and Bereavement care Service, attend internal and external meetings with regulatory and statutory bodies other NHS and care providers, HM Coroner's office, and other service providers and quality forums. The post holder will promote excellence in professional practice, set and lead quality and experience improvement by supporting, engaging and facilitating teams of staff to deliver high standards of compassionate care. This will include balancing the challenges of providing high quality, safe services, with excellent outcomes in a way that delivers efficiencies and meets the needs and expectations of patients and the public.
