Job summary
An exciting, new opportunity has arisen within the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Thoracic Surgery Research Department. The Thoracic Surgery Research Department is expanding and we are looking for an enthusiastic, highly organised and reliable Data Manager. The Post holder will work across a diverse portfolio of studies within Thoracic Surgery and will support the wider research team.
A key aspect of the role will be overseeing data entry for a variety of studies and ensuring data is entered in an accurate and timely manner. The role will expect the applicant to have a willingness to learn related medical terms and results that will aid them in extracting data correctly. The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in clinical research and be able to work independently within a dynamic and dedicated team. Excellent communication and organisational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines are essential.

Main duties of the job
- Prepare and distribute agendas, attend meetings, take minutes and distribute.
- Diary management, arranging meetings including venue hire, catering & equipment.
- To receive, prioritise & respond to incoming telephone calls, emails and other communications.
- To collate information, design and produce documents using a range of skills and software required. These will include flow charts, presentation (power point), databases (Excel).
