Job summary
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Respiratory Physiotherapist to join our multi-disciplinary team, where you'll have the opportunity to play a pivotal role in the advanced assessment and treatment of patients with chronic respiratory conditions. You will be a key expert, not only delivering high-quality care but also offering guidance and support to fellow clinicians, healthcare professionals, and Trust managers across both internal and external networks.
As a valued team member, you'll collaborate with an array of healthcare professionals to enhance patient care, helping to shape and deliver tailored intervention programs and training in the specialised clinical area of Pulmonary Rehabilitation and outpatient respiratory physiotherapy. You will also have the exciting opportunity to contribute across the broader medical pathway, further expanding your impact on patient outcomes.
You must hold a full UK driving license and have access to a vehicle for the duration of this post.
Main duties of the job
*Lead and deliver Pulmonary Rehabilitation classes across multiple hospital and community venues, including conducting one-on-one assessments for patients with chronic respiratory diseases.
*Work autonomously, managing service waiting lists, and taking responsibility for specific areas or patient groups within the service.
*Play a central role in the planning, coordination, and evaluation of respiratory physiotherapy services across Heartlands, Good Hope, and Solihull hospitals.
*Deliver high-level, specialist assessments for patients with complex respiratory conditions, crafting individualised treatment plans that address both physical and psychological needs.
*Provide mentorship and expertise to the team, collaborating closely with physiotherapists, respiratory nurses, support staff, and administrative personnel to ensure cohesive, patient-centered care.
*Engage in evidence-based audits, research initiatives, and contribute to national projects such as the NRAP Pulmonary Rehabilitation national audit, helping to secure national accreditation for the UHB Pulmonary Rehabilitation Service.
