We are pleased to invite applications for the role of Lead Nurse for Site Integrity at Good Hope Hospital.
Good Hope Hospital is a large district general hospital with circa 500 inpatient beds, operating a busy Emergency Department which treats up to 350 patients per day, in addition to providing direct access assessment areas for Medicine, Surgery and Gynaecology. There is also a thriving scheduled care programme providing inpatient & day case elective services to specialties such as Colo-rectal, Orthopaedics and Ophthalmology.
The Lead Nurse for Site Integrity is a key strategic and operational role for ensuring site integrity is maintained in relation to both capacity/patient flow and clinical safety. The successful candidate will be responsible for the Hospital's 24/7 Clinical Site Management Team who provide day to day management of site integrity, inclusive of patient flow and capacity, discharge facilitation, staffing co-ordination, incident management and clinical safety. The post holder will work closely with the Hospital Leadership Teams and directly influence the achievement of key Urgent and Emergency Care KPI's, such as ED 4-hour performance and Ambulance Turnaround Times. The successful candidate will be our clinical expert regarding hospital flow and capacity and develop a detailed understanding of associated pathways, processes and performance to drive improvement.
Main duties of the job
- Direct Management of the Hospital 24/7 Clinical Site Management Team
- Contribute to and lead the formulation, implementation and evaluation of a wide range of national and local initiatives related to patient flow.
- responsibility for ensuring that polices and processes associated with patient flow meet the needs of patients and will work in conjunction with hospital management teams to ensure patient placement, flow and admission and discharge is led and managed in a consistent manner.
- Lead on quality and patient experience change programmes associated with capacity and flow working collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders
- Day to Day Oversight and Monitoring of Site Integrity; particularly UEC and Elective Performance, Patient Flow and Discharge Performance.
