Location: Solihull Hospital (with cross-site working)
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (Monday--Friday)

We are excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a Band 3 Medical Secretary to join our dynamic and supportive secretarial team within the Cardiology Department at Solihull Hospital.
In this pivotal role, you will provide essential secretarial support to our department, working both independently and alongside named consultant(s). You will be instrumental in ensuring our patients are closely monitored and well-supported throughout their care pathway, helping to maintain the highest standards of service.

Main duties of the job
What We Are Looking For:
Strong communication skills are essential for liaising with patients, clinical teams, and departments while handling sensitive information. You must be highly organised, proactive, and able to manage priorities under pressure to support consultants effectively.
Initiative, sound judgment, and efficient problem-solving are key to maintaining smooth departmental operations. Prior experience in a similar healthcare role is highly desirable, along with knowledge of medical terminology and clinical admin processes.
Excellent audio-typing skills and proficiency in MS Office and other IT systems are required. Familiarity with the RTT pathway and waiting list management is a distinct advantage.
Flexibility and adaptability are important, as the role may involve working across multiple sites while maintaining high standards.
