Job summary
The clinical role of the band 5 MSK Physiotherapist is to be responsible for their own caseload, without direct supervision. They perform functional assessment of patients,
A band 5 receives supervision and development in the form of regular training, clinical reasoning sessions, peer review, and case conferences
There will be opportunities to take part in evidence based audit and research projects to support both teams and clinical practise.
Contribute to a 7 day extended hours service rota within MSK. Training is provided to participate on the on call physiotherapy service only if required.
Main duties of the job
*To undertake a comprehensive assessment of MSK patients including those with diverse or complex presentations/ multiple pathologies, use of advanced clinical reasoning and manual assessments techniques to provide an accurate diagnosis of their condition and / or problems.
*Formulate and deliver an individual physiotherapy treatment programme based on a sound knowledge of evidenced based practise and treatment options using clinical assessment, reasoning skills and knowledge of treatment skills. E.g manual physiotherapy techniques, patient education, exercise classes and alternative options.
*To formulate accurate prognoses and recommend best course of intervention to patients, carers and other health care professionals, developing comprehensive and alternative options.
*To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work, including the management of patients in your care.
*Maintain and develop current knowledge of evidence based practise, developing specialist knowledge of particular conditions and patient types.
