Job summary

This exciting new role was introduced to support and strengthen the structure of the UHB+ Temporary Staffing Team, having both a professional and managerial leadership role within the team, the post holder is pivotal to the functioning of all UHB+ services. The post holder will have a professional registration with at least 2 years post registration experience with a variety of clinical experience.

They would be responsible for providing professional leadership for the Clinical Managers team and additionally, operational and managerial leadership to the Retention and Booking Teams; They will ensure all bank staff remains fit for purpose to provide safe and effective care across the Trust through monitoring and supporting statutory and mandatory training compliance and operationally lead the teams to ensure effective management of both clinical and non-clinical bank staff.

The Clinical Operational manager will be pivotal in supporting the Trust strategy for its continued usage of Temporary Staffing and imbedding national guidance, reviewing and supporting investigations of complaints and incidents, and the planning and implementing of recommendations to facilitate personal and professional development of bank only staff across the Trust.

Main duties of the job

The Clinical Operational Manager is responsible for promoting the vision and values of University Hospitals Birmingham being a role model and leading by example.

The Post Holder will undertake a wide range of duties in providing operational and clinical management support to the Head and Deputy Head of Temporary Staffing to ensure the department meets its financial and operational service delivery targets and other key performance indicators.

The Post holder will directly contribute to the Trust strategies, within their sphere of responsibility, supporting the Deputy Head of Temporary Staffing and Head of Temporary Staffing to manage services within the team which provides essential line management support to a cohort of bank staff through the recruitment and retention process; They will monitoring compliance to statutory and mandatory training, managing performance and reviewing and supporting HR investigations and contribute to the overall daily functions of UHB+.
