Band 3 Renal Booking Coordinator-Renal Outpatients

Job summary
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated booking coordinator to work alongside our team of Clerks, Booking Coordinators and the wider administration team within the Renal Department at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. The successful candidate will be a key member of the team, providing a professional and high quality administrative service at all times.
They must be willing to assist the department and the whole multi-disciplinary team in providing the best possible care to our patients and service users in line with our trust values and mission statement. We are looking for someone ideally with experience of dealing with a large volume of appointment bookings and phone calls, someone who is a team player but has the initiative to complete their individual tasks in a timely manner.
We would like the successful candidate to be pro-active, approachable, and supportive to both patient and colleagues, to have a conscientious approach, and ability to demonstrate admin experience and be able to meet the main duties of the role as identified in the job description. You must possess excellent organisational skills and be experienced in dealing with confidential information.
Main duties of the job
1.Print and manage clinic reports in Excel format whilst monitoring the timeliness and quality of the rebooking of clinic appointments set out by the Outpatient Manager.
2.Identify capacity shortfalls in clinical areas and escalate appropriately
3.To understand the patient pathway including RTT, capacity and demand planning as required. Deal with queries and action as appropriate to achieve Trust targets.
4.Manage several mailboxes
5.Managing the Biopsy Admissions by arranging beds and pre op test as required
6.Manage the booking of PBWL/PIFU lists in a timely manner
7.Co-operate in the introduction of new technology and new working practices to ensure the smooth running of the department.
8.To deal with a high volume of telephone calls from patients, relatives and service users in a professional and timely manner.
9.Ability to make decisions relating to non-routine enquiries and issues. Ability to problem solve and provide alternative solutions.
10.Ability to recognise situations that should be referred onto the Line Manager and take prompt and appropriate action.
11.Organise own day-to-day work and prioritise team tasks as required showing an ability to prioritise in order to achieve set timescales.
12.Undertake work that has been prioritised by the Supervisor / Line Manager
13.Manage at short notice cancellations and re bookings of patients as necessary onto appropriate lists
