Medical Directors CDG 3 Heartland Hospital (University Hospital of Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust):
We are looking for experienced medical leaders for CDG3 for Medical Director roles who are interested as Medical Director for Women's or, Medical Director for Children's and Young People or someone who can lead as Medical Director for both( Women's and Children's and Young People).
The role includes providing leadership and direction to the hospitals, and to oversee the
management of all resources and staff within the Clinical Delivery Group (CDG) of women's services
across the three hospital sites of Heartlands, Solihull and Good Hope.
The Medical Director position involves becoming a member of the Hospital CDG senior leadership team, working in partnership
with other CDG Medical Directors to deliver the safe and efficient functioning of women's services
aligned to the corporate objectives and the accompanying clinical strategy.

Lead on the delivering of national maternity requirements/plans ensuring the vision, values and strategic themes of the UHB are integrated. and that delivery is focused on improving outcomes and experience for women using our services.
Has delegated accountability and responsibility from the Chief Medical officer/Board for ensuring professional leadership and governance of maternity services and ensure that delivery is focused on improving outcomes and experience for women using our services.

Medical Director for Women's:-
Work with the Hospital Medical Director, Clinical Service leads, Director of Midwifery, Head of Midwives, Triumvirate colleagues to ensure the service meets all internal and external requirements relating to Maternity services in relation to national plans, MSSP, CQC, CNST. GMC, Health Education England, and MNSI etc.
Work with the Clinical Service Leads , Midwifery colleagues to continue to develop an open and respectful culture where teams are confident and skilled in providing regular, constructive feedback, where issues can be raised and solved openly, leading to improvements for women their families and for staff .
Develop, lead and manage key quality metrics identifying areas for improvement and the mitigation of risk.
Also engaging with teams to establish a learning culture that continually improve the outcomes and experience of women and their families.
Actively establish and build a wide range of effective networks, contacts and partnerships with internal and external stake holders to inform and influence improvements in service delivery and outcomes.
Medical Director for Children and Young People:-
Work with the Hospital Medical Director, Clinical Service leads of Paediatrics, Clinical Service leads of Neonates, Clinical lead of Community Paediatrics, ED lead for Paediatrics, Safeguarding team, Triumvirate colleagues to ensure that service meets all internal and external service requirements relating to children and Young People, Full Integration of acute and community Paediatrics, SEND agenda, Safeguarding, working with Birmingham Children's hospital, CQC,GMC and Health Education England. The NHS Long Term Plan sets out a vision for the future of the NHS and new action in relation to children and young people aged 0-25. To deliver these, a Children and Young People Transformation programme was established, bringing together key partners and programmes responsible for the delivery of our Long Term Plan commitments.
This role involves transformation and reducing health inequalities.
Medical Director for Women's and Children's & Young people:-
