Job summary
We are looking for a band 5 Cardiac Physiologist who is ready to progress into a band 6 Senior Cardiac Physiologist post based in our friendly but busy department at Solihull Hospital, which is part of the University Hospitals Birmingham trust.
The department incorporates a broad range of invasive and non-invasive procedures, both routine and complex. There is echocardiography including stress Echocardiography, Transoesophageal Echocardiography, and physiologist led bubble and LVO contrast Echocardiography. ETT, tilt testing, Holter and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring. We have physiologist-led services such as RACPC and ILR implants / explants in place. There is access to further development across the other sites.
You will have opportunities to develop through rotation in all areas of the department and the chance to utilise your knowledge and experience to develop and train other staff and students.
There will be some rotation across sites required including Heartlands hospital to assist with the PCI service including on-call and may require rotation to the Washwood Heath diagnostic hub.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a candidate who is able to work as an independent practitioner working on their own initiative in the areas of cardiac catheter lab - to include primary PCI, brady pacing follow up and implant, exercise testing, HUTT ( Head up tilt testing) and holter analysis.
The successful candidates must have a special interest in either pacing or echocardiography.
The applicant should have a BSc in Clinical Cardiac Physiology (or equivalent) and be willing to work towards or achieved BSE or BHRS accreditation.
It is important that the applicant has a good working knowledge of all procedures and is willing to work flexibly in both the invasive and non-invasive aspects of the service as necessary.
