Job summary

We are currently recruiting BHRS/IBHRE Accredited Cardiac Physiologists/Scientists to the UHB Bank to provide ad hoc support to a busy CRM Service based at Good Hope Hospital.

As a Highly Specialised Cardiac Physiologist/Scientist you will also be expected to be able to carry out the complex cardiac tests relevant to Cardiac Rhythm Management. You will also provide leadership, support and give advice to junior members of the team and other health professionals as necessary.

You will:

* have at least one years' work experience at senior physiologist level, be competent and knowledgeable in investigations and the key elements of the role.

* Hold ILS/ALS, have a HNC/BSC in clinical physiology / MSc in Clinical science (cardiac) or equivalent.

* be able to provide a high quality cardiac investigations service with specialist knowledge and experience in CRM.

* be proficient in the following cardiology investigations: pacemaker and ICD follow up clinics and technical support at permanent pacemaker and ICD implants, and undertake cardiac catheterisation procedures

Current hourly rate: 46.13

Main duties of the job

*Perform highly specialised Cardiac Physiology investigations and interventions including:

*Perform advanced physiological testing during pacemaker, CRT-P and ICD/CRT-D implantation and follow-up with analysis of highly

complex data and diagnostic information. Independent prescription and evaluation of device therapy and programming ensuring

individualised device optimisation. Currently we perform an on-call rota for complex devices and expect an accredited Band 7 physiologist

to take part in this.

*Additionally, perform a broad range of clinical investigations undertaken within the Cardiac Physiology Service including, but not limited to:

* Performance, analysis and interpretation of resting ECGs, including independent interpretation for Direct Access patients.

* Manage physiologist-led Exercise Tolerance Testing

* Holter analysis (including complex pacemakers/implantable devices)

* Cardiac catheterisation (including complex cases)

* Permanent pacemaker and implantable loop recorder implantation and follow-up
