The Urgent Treatment Centre at Solihull Hospital is inviting internal applications to a newly created Band 3 Health Care Assistant opportunity.
The UTC is open 7 days a week from 8am-8pm -- it provides urgent care within the community to those not requiring ED attention. The centre treats broken bones, minor burns and acts as a walk-in centre to those that require medical attention.

To be considered for this opportunity, successful candidates will need to evidence completion of health care related education and achieved their care certificate.
In return you will be welcomed by the UTC Department and the wider Team at Solihull Hospital. You will be supported within the role and encouraged to develop existing/ new skills and competencies.
Main duties of the job
As the successful you will support the UTC team under the supervision of registered nurses in the delivery of patient centred care.
This will include supervising and assisting in the training of Band 2 Health Care Assistances and staff undertaking work experience placements in the department.
As a valued member of the nursing team, you will demonstrate a level of skill and understanding which enables them to undertake specific tasks delegated by the nurse in charge and in accordance with relevant procedures, guidelines and policies.
This critical position will work co-operatively as part of the multi-disciplinary team supporting colleagues in work associated with patient care. You will be encouraged to challenge and escalate poor practice/performance.
You will communicate clearly, effectively and appropriately with the multidisciplinary team, patients and their family, visitors and carers.
