Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a specialist Dietitian to join our hepatology and hepatobiliary dietetic service at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham (QEHB). The post holder will provide specialist nutritional care to patients pre and post liver transplant, pancreatitis, pancreatic cancer and undergoing pancreatic surgery. The service covers both inpatient and outpatient settings. The successful candidate will be the dietetic lead for HPB and post liver transplant patients who are under the care of the QEHB.
The hepatology and hepatobiliary unit is one of the largest in the UK and a leading provider of services, the quality of our care and the extensive knowledge and experience of our specialist team attracts thousands of patients from across the globe. The liver dietetic team consists of band 7s, 6, 5 and 4 which the post holder will jointly lead. The successful individual will take a lead role in the advanced assessment and treatment of a variety of complex patients so the applicant must have significant dietetic experience within a range of specialities including enteral feeding, oral nutritional support, rehabilitation as well as ability to obtain relevant anthropometric measurements.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be part of the larger dietetic team at the QEHB of over 60 dietitians covering various specialities. This is a fast paced environment, therefore good leadership and organisational skills are essential to this role.
