CCU and Cath labs at the QE site covers a 12 bedded level 2 unit, 4 catheter labs and the recovery unit, we also manages the 24/7 PPCI service. The site covers a range of cardiac and cardiothoracic conditions including; acute coronary syndrome, electrophysiology, heart and lung transplantation, heart failure, cardiothoracic surgery, implantable devices, and percutaneous valve insertion.
Development opportunities available includes ILS and ALS training, opportunity to complete the Coronary Care course at BCU at level 6 or 7. We also offer clinical skills such as ECG interpretation, management of level 2 patients, plus key skills such as safe care of; IABP, impella, inotropes, alines, central lines, CPAP, LVAD, PPCI triage, and temporary pacing.
Main duties of the job
*The post holder will work according to the NMC Code of Professional Standards of Practice and Behaviour and relevant professional guidelines and be accountable for their own professional actions
*The post holder must use up to date knowledge and evidence to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate care, communicate findings, influence changes and promote health and best practice
*The post holder must achieve and maintain competence in identified mandatory and statutory training, develop and maintain clinical competencies, skills and knowledge which relate to the area of clinical practice
*The post holder must respond to patients, relative and carers concerns as they arise and take remedial action as required
*The post holder will take charge of the practice
