Job summary

The Imaging Department at University Hospitals Birmingham (UHB) is one of the largest in England providing over 2,500 appointments each day. The department delivers services across Queen Elizabeth, Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull Hospitals as well as community locations. UHB opened Washwood Heath Community Diagnostic Centre in 2023 and this facility provides diagnostic services such as MRI, X-Ray, Cardiac Physiology, Ultrasound, Tele-dermatology and Phlebotomy. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Imaging Management Team as an Operations Manager on 12 month fixed term contract. The role is primarily responsible for day to day operational management and development of services at Washwood Heath Community Diagnostic Centre.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a highly motivated, innovative and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about delivering high quality care. These are demanding roles managing services and staff across multiple sites. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate that they have the experience and aptitude to manage a busy portfolio. They need to have good problem solving and interpersonal skills and be able to work well with clinical and managerial leads, patients and service users. Strong project management skills are also essential with evidence of leading service improvement. The successful candidate will need to be a supportive and empowering line manager who is able to lead with care to fully engage staff across different administrative teams.
