Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to be part of our Medical Records warehouse team. Our focus is on on providing an excellent service to all four hospitals within the Trust through a supportive and innovative working environment. We are looking for an organised Medical Records Warehouse Clerk to be part of our dynamic team.

There are various posts available

2 x Full Time Permanent

2 x Full Time Fixed Term (12 Months)

1 x Part Time Permanent (27.5hrs)

We can be flexible with working patterns, the department is open from 7am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Please indicate on your application which post you would be interested in.

Main duties of the job

Main duties of the role are

Effectively retrieve records and/or information using detailed knowledge and understanding of the warehouse management system in operation within the department.

To check and accurately put away received Medical Records into the correct locations in the warehouse using mechanical aids where appropriate.

To operate mechanical aids, e.g. High-Level Order Pickers, in a responsible manner, keeping equipment and working areas, safe, clean, and tidy, reporting promptly deficiencies or defects to the immediate Supervisor.

Essential

  • * Sound educational background to GCSE or equivalent.

Desirable

  • * GCSE English and Maths or equivalent Grade C.

Experience

Essential

  • * Minimum of 6 months clerical/ administration experience. Excellent knowledge of keyboard skills.

Desirable

  • * Knowledge of medical record policies and procedures.
  • * Proven skills of working within a medical record library or library type environment. Knowledge of electronic tracking system(s).

Additional Criteria

  • * Ability to prioritise, effective organisational skills, ability to use initiative within clearly defined parameters. To be able to work to deadlines whilst maintaining 100% accuracy.
  • * To be able to communicate effectively at all levels, clear and concise written skills.
  • * To be a team player with an ability to stay calm under pressure, flexible and adaptable, discreet and considerate. A positive attitude towards work and a friendly manner.
  • * Flexibility in working hours and be able to cover other shifts at short notice. The post holder must have the ability to lift files and work from stepladders.
