Job summary
Are you an experienced Dietitian, looking for a permanent or temporary opportunity to join a busy and supportive team working in Solihull community?
We seek two enthusiastic, self-motivated Dietitians with experience of nutrition support and home enteral feeding for vacancies in our team. We have one new role for a permanent 0.8wte Band 6 Dietitian and one temporary maternity cover role, also for a 0.8wte Band 6 Dietitian.
The post holders will work in a small community nutrition support team to support the safe and effective management of patients requiring nutritional support and tube feeding across Solihull community.
When joining our team, you will also be joining the wider team of Community Therapy Services and the Trust-wide team of Dietitians and Dietetic Assistants who provide a valued service across acute and community sites within this large teaching Trust.
We offer a range of training and development opportunities and the support of a large team of senior and specialist Dietitians and Community Therapists. We also retain close links with our acute colleagues, particularly those delivering nutritional support in the acute settings.
Main duties of the job
Our clinical work is varied and interesting, covering a wide range of conditions and settings. We see patients in their own homes, care homes, residential homes, day centres, respite centres, supported living homes, clinics and schools so travel across the borough is required.
Both roles will work closely with General Practice, Community Health Professionals and other key stakeholders to promote malnutrition screening, malnutrition treatment and a 'food first' approach to nutrition support.
This includes reviewing the use of prescribable products, promoting appropriate prescribing and supporting community health professionals in all aspects of nutrition support. The postholders would also have opportunities to develop and deliver face-to-face and online training sessions on malnutrition and home enteral feeding.
As you can see from the variety within this role you will need a flexible approach to managing changing work priorities, excellent team working and communication skills and effective organisational and time management strategies.
