Job summary

In Summer 2024, Solihull Hospital opens six new theatres (13 in total) seeing an extra 11500 operations each year. We've made a great start and as the building now starts to take shape, we are focusing our attentions on recruiting an amazing colleague to lead the teams in the delivery and expansion of the Pre op assessment service. We would be delighted to welcome applications for our Band 7 nurse/Charge nurse opportunity to join our well-established and progressive team at Solihull.

Working with Matron Jo Blake, you will use your knowledge about Pre -operative assessment to positively lead, coach and support all our amazing colleagues. The Pre-Assessment team consist of up to 25 staff which includes, healthcare support workers and nursing colleagues - who collectively deliver the agreed goals and targets of the service. As the successful candidate you will work in conjunction with all specialties to deliver the best care for our patients as they begin their surgical journey in the trust.

Main duties of the job

Communication within the role is key -- as the first point of clinical contact for our patients you will instinctively uphold and ensure high standards of care and professionalism -- ensuring standards of care and compassion are maintained.

As a Band 7, your starting salary will be 43,742 rising to 50,056, with ongoing education and personal development. This, along with a public sector pension, 27 days annual leave (rising with service) and the opportunity to buy and sell leave.
