Job summary
The UHB pharmacy department in collaboration with Critical Care are excited to announce the opportunity to become a Consultant Pharmacist in Critical Care Medicine here at UHB. We are seeking a pharmacist experienced in critical care who wishes to expand their role and become a Consultant Pharmacist or is already in a consultant post and wishes to move to a Tertiary centre.
This new role will work across the Trust, supported by three Specialist Pharmacists, three Senior Support Pharmacists and two Specialist Pharmacy Technicians and will provide a strategic lead on the largest critical care unit in Europe.

Main duties of the job
This role will require strategic leadership and management responsibility for the ongoing development and sustainability of a high quality, innovative clinical service to support the highly complex Critical Care service provision across the UHB sites.
The role will suit an individual with a proven track record of delivering advanced critical care service within pharmacy in the healthcare setting. Someone who is an expert in critical care medicine, keen to adopt novel approaches and be recognised nationally through input beyond the organisation to local (with other Trusts and relevant regional networks) and national (FICM & ICS) strategic levels.
The Advanced Clinical Pharmacist -- Critical Care will have overall responsibility for managing, leading, risk management, medicines optimisation monitoring and clinical audit.
The role's strategic aims will include:
*To identify, prioritise and contribute to the development of innovative critical care services within the Trust and manage the change process required to achieve them.
*To ensure that issues concerning pharmaceutical care are appropriately presented to the speciality and produce business plans to advance the service.
*To drive pharmacy research opportunities as an expert in critical care medicine.
*To support the delivery of a robust education programme relating to pharmaceutical aspects of Critical Care Medicine for all Trust staff both clinical and non-clinical.
