Job Title: Locum Consultant Radiologist 12 months with the possibility of extension

Base Site: Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, Good Hope Hospital
Location(s): Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, Good Hope Hospital, Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, Solihull Hospital
Key Relationships: The post holder will have close working relationships with both the Imaging Department and specialty teams including Consultants, Radiographic and associated support staff.
Main duties of the job
This is a full time post and incorporates 9 PA's of direct patient care based on a 10 PA contract. Flexibility in association with service needs will be required on a weekly basis in line with an annualised hour's framework. The appointee will support clinical colleagues in offering a comprehensive imaging service for the trust and our patients. The timetable of activities will be agreed with the Clinical Service Lead of Imaging before taking up the post. Sample timetables of activities are available on request.
The successful candidate will also be expected to:-
*Ability to work effectively in a team & with colleagues from a wide range of professional and organisational backgrounds.
*Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
*Ability to communicate effectively with patients, relatives, GPs, nurses, and other agencies.
*Ability to understand patient and carer/family requirements.
*Ability to maintain composure and set high standards of behaviour when under pressure.
*Enquiring, critical approach to work
*Caring attitude to patients
*Good IT skills
*Regularly brief line managed staff / trainees on current position & Trust priorities
*Good knowledge of wider health debate & NHS structures
*Ability to modify behaviour to situation and audience
