Smethwick Dialysis Centre is a regional centre for haemodialysis -- supporting patients across the Midlands and beyond. The Centre is an NHS service, managed by University Hospitals Birmingham.

Main duties of the job

To coordinate and ensure a high standard of patient care is delivered in an effective and efficient manner reflecting the overall philosophy of the service, on a regular basis. To assess, plan, implement, deliver and evaluate care in line with local and national guidelines. Act as a role model delivering care as an Autonomous Practitioner, in a haemodialysis setting within the satellite environment, working within agreed protocols and guidelines On a nurse led basis supervise junior and unregistered nurses in the delivery of care of chronically sick renal patients in varying stages of illness and from diverse ethnic backgrounds. Contribute to the development of a learning culture to ensure growth and development of the nursing team and students. Successful achievement of competencies and training is required to facilitate full undertaking of the role.
